THE WESTLAND MINING INDUSTRY.
Sir,—Kindly allow me a little space to voice the popular opinion of Hie West (-'oast people, the largest mining district in the .South Island. Tins mining' district is the most-, contemptibly treated district in Now Zealand, more especially tlio quartz district of Keofloii. Since the days of Seddon it has been entirely neglected, and a reaction against the Government is browing, due only to the conduct of the .Jliiics Department. Some of thut staff have done much to misguide the Ministers and block the. West Coast mining affairs, which is now recoiling on the. Minister and Government. A remedy should be provided at once.— J am, etc., WEST COASTER. Westport,
