AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE. , Tho eleventh annual conference of the Federated Catholic Clubs of New Zealand is to open in St. Patrick's Hall, Boulcott Street, at 11 a.m. to-day. Representatives of about twonty Catholic Chibs in various parts of tho Dominion aro expected to attend. Amongst tho questions to be discussed is that of establishing federal literary competitions for a challenge shield. A number of papers dealing with matters affecting tho welfare of tho clubs, will bo read at the conference, and discussions will tnko placo upon methods of improving and extending the St. Vincent de Paul Society and other Catholio organisations.
