DEFENCE REGISTRATION.
A MINISTERIAL NOTIFICATION. Tho Minister for Defence notifies in thl Gazctto that, overy male inhabitant, liable to military training, who has not already registered, must do so on or before May 31, 11112. , Any person failing to register is liable to lio fined £5, to be excluded from the Government service, and to be denied enrolment as an elector. The obligation to register rests rnion oil mule persons who will have, on May 31, 1012, attained tho ago of fourteen years or upwards, but will not havo attained the age of twenty-two yours, who havo not already registered; this does not mean that anyone who was over the ago of twenty-one last your when the scheme cumo into operation is affected, (ho nge of twentytwo only refers to (host) of them who neglected to register last yenr. Boys who have- nlready attained the age of'fourteen, or will do so by Jfny 31, are also required to register. Male immigrants between the ago of fourteen and twenty-two nro required to register within six months of nrrivins in tho Dominion. Stale persons temporarily absent from tho Dominion, and liable to register under the original notico of April 10, 1911, aro required to register within two months of their return.
