Tenders for annual supplies have- been accepted by the City Council as follow:— lirass and zinc (.Messrs. A. and T. Hurt); bricks and lime (Trevor Bros.); cement (Golden Bay Cement Co., Francis Holmes, P. Hutson' and Co., the supplies to bo alternate); chemicals (Sharlaud and Co.); coal, j\"n. 1 schedule (N.Z. Stale Coal Co.); No. 2 schedule (Wostport Coal Co.), drainpipes (Messrs. I'. Hutson and Co.j, explosives (Messrs. I'annntyno and Co., and Messrs. Briscoe and Co., order to be given to each on alternate months), firewood (U'fv.tport Coal Co.), general stores and tools (Messrs. Stewart and Co.), gravel (Brnnda Quarries. Ltd.), ironfoundry (.Messrs. Neilson, Murray and Frcdric), painters', materials (Messrs. li. and E. Tingey), saddlery and dog collars (Mr. D. Andrews), and (Tonks and Andrews), timber (Odlin Timber Co.). Baggage is a Tjother at any time, but doubly so during the Faster crush.
