ARBITRATION COURT.

BUILDERS' LABOUKEBS' AWABD. Tho award of the Arbitration Court in connection with the Wellington builders' labourers' dispute has been filed with the Cleric of Awards (Mr. E. Stacker). The award is based on the recommendations of. the Council of Conciliation,'so far as it concerns hours of work, rates of wages, payment of wages, overtime, and holidays, suburban work, under-rate workers, tools, accommodation, employment of youths, preference, scope, and terms of award. Dotails of the agreement arrived at on these points have- been published previously. Exemptions. The- only matter that the Court had to decider was in regard to the exemptions asked for. Clause 12 was framed lo deal with- these and reads as follows:— (a) The Wellington Harbour Board shall pay not less than tho wages fixed by this"award for any work coming within the scope of this award, ana shall pay overtime at tho rato fixed by this award for any work done by any worker in excess of eight and a quarter hours in anv one day. (b) The said board shall also pay the rates prescribed by this award for any work dono on Sundays or any of (.he holidays mentioned. (c) Tho said board is exempted from the operation of all the other provisions of this award. (d) Tho foregoing provisions of this clause shall apply to the Wellington (i.T- Company except in relation io the building 'operations now being carried on Ijv it of Miramnr. as to which all Hi,, previsions vf this award, except this clans:, shall apply. .<•!
