Nash, a candidate for the Mayoralty, addressed the elector* on municipal matters. Tho candidate dealt lully with tho affairs of the borough, and at its conclusion a voto of thanks and confidence was passed. Tlio Campbell Street. School Committee met last night, tho Rev. T. T. Thomas in the chair. The headmaster, Mr. F. E. Watson, reported that the roll number was 72!1, with mi average attendance of 062. The Wangnnui Education Doard wrote that it had complied with the provisions of the Act in the appointment of an assistant teacher, and could not see its way to alter the decision. The committee resolved that it could not acquiesce in the hoard's interpretation of the Act. The District Nurse Committee, met last evening, the Mayor presiding. Nurse I.onergan repunwl that, (luring the past month sixty visits had been paid to patients. One death had occurred, and five new cases had been taken up. Miss F. George intimated that .'die would organise a concert in aid of tho funds during the winter months.
