Tho same linn has also consigned to them a Komney .Marsh hogget rain, bred bv .Mr. .f. E." Quested, of Kent, mid n fourth Komney ewe, in lamb, bred by Mr. Hidden, of Kent.. The vessel has' also on board a yearling polled aligns bull, bred by .Mr. J. Cridlan, of Gloucester, and consigned to Mr. H. B. Williams, of Gisborne.
Mr. .Tames A. Rankin, who Ims been appointed the first secretary of the Clydesdale Horse Society of-New Zealand, arrived by the Rcmuera from London yesterday. Mr. Rankin was bom in Glasgow in 1885, and for some years was engaged in farm work in Dumbartonshire, and then entered the office of the Clydesdale Horse Society. Ho is well up in the general routine of office business, and displays considerable enthusiasm in the discharge of his duties. Mr. Rankin is exceedingly popular with the menilvers ot the society, many of whom regretted for personal 'reasons his departure for New Zealand. Mr. Hankin is a-married man with one child.
