Ilitchings, Hankins, and Co., Ltd., Levin, report as follows:—We submitted a catalogue comprising 60 bales and fadges wool, 1000 sheepskins, 400 hides, 6 casks and 40 tins tallow. Prices were very firm for nil classes, sheepskins advancing up to Id. per lb. on late rates. We effected a total clearance at most satisfactory prices. Wool:—Crossbred, medium, 7id., 7Jd., to Bd.; crossbred, coarse, 6jd., 63d., to 7d.; bellies" and pisccs, 4Jd., 43d., to 5d.; lambs, 6Rd., 7}d., to 7Jd.; locks, 3d. to 3}d. 3Fr. ICewton King reports for the week as follows:-At Kaponga on Friday, March 22, my yards were filled with weaners and cow?. The demand for the latter was good. Weaners were harder to quit, but were mostly cleared at late rates. Weaners, mixed, £1 Is. to £1 10s.; poorer, 7s. 6d. to 165.; weaner steers, 17s. to £1 Bs.; weaner heifers, £1 3s. to £1 lCs. 6d.; yearling heifers, £1 175.; two-year empty heifelf?, £4 Is. to £4 2s. 6d.; store cows, £2 4s. 6d. to £3 10s.; forward cows, £3 IBs. to £4 11s.; fat cows, £4 12s. 6d. to £5 7s. 6d.; bulls, £1 12s. to £4 55.; lambs, 4s. On Monday I conducted a clearing sale at Omata on account of 31 r. A. X. Burke. There was a large attendance of buyers and excellent prices were realised for both live and dead stock. Bidding throughout, was very brisk for all cattle and implements, prices obtained being:—Dairy cows in milk, £7 to £10 55., £3 45.; cows, £3: 18-months in calf, Jersey heifers, £3 17s. Cd. to •£•! 17s. 6d.; Jersey weaner heifers, £2 to £2 is.; weaner bull, £1 10.-.; draught colt.-£3l;-trap mare, £15; hack, £14 55.; mower, £15 55.; spring-cart, £11 ICs.; drill, £16; separator, £10 55.; dairy cows, on account of other vendors, £5 ICs. to £7 16s. r aged,'£2 12s. 6d. to £3 155.; in-calf heifors, £6 to £5 ICs. At my Itahotu Yards, on Tuesday, I had only a small yarding of cattle, owing to the very wet. day, come vendors not yarding their cattle.
