William George Honkers pleaded guilty to a charge of the theft of a bottle of brandy, a bottle of champagne, a bottle of whisky, a:id two llnrks of whisky. Station-Sergeant Darby stated that Ik'nker.-i had been employed at Barrett's Hotel as a porter, but alter a few days had been dismissed, as he had proved unsatisfactory. In consequence of somethins lie heard, the licensee of the hotel had ijono to Honker's room, aad had found evidence of the thefts. The licensee, added !ho sorseaiif, had employed Honkers in order to do him a good turn. Henlcors was fined £1, and. ordered to pay Iho vuliie of the liquor taken, in default seven days' imprisonment.
