Tho membsrs of the llutt Golf Club commenced their season on Saturday with a mixed foursome competition, which was played under perfect conditions in the presence, of o number of spectators and was won by Mr. Kirk and Jliss Wilson, one up. The other competitors were: Mr Schmidt and Jliss. Parsons, all square; and Dr. Buck and Mrs. Bridge, one down, ihe course was in perfect order and it is anticipated that the links for the coming season will bo better than usual. CAR'fERTOX CLUB. It was reported that a proposal had been made to secure the services of a golf coach for the Wnirarapa, and letters were read from three clubs suiKcstiiig a conference. Messrs. W. H. Booth, li. W, Roydhouse, and 11. S. Moss were appointed to attend same. It was decided to open the season on Saturday, April 13. HOCKEY. AVEsfiFcLUB. TJio seventh annual general meeting of the Wesley Hockey Club was held in the Young Men's Classroom, Taranaki Street, on Friday evening. There was a fair attendance of members. Mr. \\. H. Bcnnete presided. Tho report stated that, commencing the season with a larger proportion of young players than usual, the various teams found it difficult to win matches against more experienced players, but, nevertheless, (hey finished up with satisfactory records. The. senior team was congratulated on winning the soven-a-fide tournament, from eighteen teams. With deep regret, the death of Oscar Jacobean, of the senior eleven, was recorded. The report mentioned that now member-, were desired. The balancesheet revealed a credit bauanee of ,C" Ds.
