FIRE AT RUNANGA.
CO-OPERATIVE COMPANY'S BUILD. ING DESTROYED. (By Tclceraph.—Press Association.) Grcj'tnouth, March 31. A disastrous firo occurred at RunanM early on Saturday morning, when the Co-operative Company's iino building, together with its largo stock, was destroyed, nothing being saved. It is surmised that Ihc lire originated in a chimney near tho bakehouse. It was discovered by th« baker. There being no fire appliance! (he building hod to left to burn. Fol a time Sir. U'Cojincll's drapery store, and Jlr. Magee's private homo so?med certain to go, but willing hands constantlv saturated blankets with water, and uuis (lie danger was averted. Luckily (hero was no wind, otherwise more damage wmld have been done. The insur* mice on die co-operative company's stock was .-CUDO, and on the buildings ,£350. Thu saic of, the company's came througji the fire intact. The books were found to Ire slightly charred, but it is expected they will 'be decipherable.
