MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
A public meeting was hold in tho institute on. Friday evening to inaugurate tho seamen's sports and social club J here was a "ood attendance. -Mr. l<. S. fchell, the mis.-kmer, outlined the necessity inr such ii club for the promoting ot goodfellowship among the seamen, and tor tho assistin" of those who might stand in need of a friendly hand. An apt-Mil was made to all present to assist the club in whatever manner they possibly could. Several of tho men present sißiuiied thenintention of joiuing by haimin;; in tlieii names (o the secretary. Musical Hems n-ero rendered by ilr. Newton and Miss Robert*. A hearty vote of thanks to the missioner for tho use of th= institute lor tho meeting, and to Hie ladies for arrau"ins the supper ivero carried by acclamation. A vote of thanks to the performers was also heartily carried.
