The • Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report for the week endfng March 29,. as follows:—At Apiti on Tuesday wo had a large yarding of both sheep and cattle. Competition was brisk throughout; both ewes and store lambs were easier in price, in sympathy with outside narkots. Oattlo sold well. At Feilding on Friday we had a good yarding of sheep and a heavy yarding of cattle. Bidding wae brisk, and with the exception of about 100 sheep wo cleared our entry at good prices, a lino of 445 2-tootJ» wethers making 13s. We yarded just on 400 head of cattle and with the exception of a pen of 11 weaners we cleared the yards at prices in favour of the vendors. Messrs. Dalgoty and Co., Ltd., report on their Levin tale, held yesterday, as follows:—We bad a, heavy yarding of cattle and a medium yarding nf sheep. Klicen opened' with a dragging sale, but improved as the s;i!a progressed, and wo quitted the majority of the yarding at satisfactory prices. We quote:—Sheep: Pat ewes, to lis.; small lambs. 4s. 9d., 4s. lid., 55.; Lincoln rams, 125.: Ilorancy rams, Os. to 15s. Messrs. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual .weekly sale at Eketahnna yesterday. Entries came in above advertised numbers, and they managed to nuit the whole yarding. Both sheep and" cattle were of bettor quality than those of late. They report a good sale. Quotations:—Good f.m. ewee, Bs. Id., Bs. 6d., 9s. 3d., to 10s. 7d.; poor sorts, 3s. 9d. to 55.; 2. 4, and 6-tooth owes, lCs, 3d., lis. to 12s. Id.; 2-tooth owes, 10s. to 10s. 9d.; b.f. lambs, ss. 6d., 7s. ,3d. to Bs. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report.:—At our Levin sale to-day we offered 150 head of cattle to a fair attendance of buyers, who were present from Paline-rston North, Foxton, Wellington, and the surrounding districts. The cattle' opened very well, and good prices were maintained throughout, and we wero able to dispose of the bulk of our entry at highly-satisfactory prices. The following are a few of our salea:—Fat cows, to £6 95.; bullocks, to £5 17s. 6d.: yearling heifers (empty), to £2; IS-months steers, from £3 6s. 6d. to £3 lis.; heifers (spring calvers), from £4 17s. 6(1. to £5 155.; yearling steers, from £2 to £2 10s.; yearling Jersey bulls, from £2 to £2 lfs.: weaner calves, from 15s. to 30s.;Mnills,' up to. £4 10s.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report':—At .our Talmerston North sale on Thursday good, competition oiistod for all. classes of sheep, and a large yarding changed hands. Competition for cattle was not brisk. Sales were effected at the followine prices:—Two-tooth owes, 13s. lid.; 2, 4, and 6-tooth ewes. 13s. 6d.: soitnd-raouth ewes, 9s. 3d. to 10s. 6d.; aged ewes, ss. Ed. to Bs. 9d. good lambs, Bs.' 9d. to 9s. Id.; medium lambs. ss. 6d.- to 6-3.; -'cull lambs, 4s.
