> • :—— . WELLINGTON DISTKICT BOABD. An adjourned meoting of ti>e Wellington Land Board was hold yesterday, there being present: Mr. James Mackenzie (Commissioner of Crown Lands) and Messrs. J. Dawsnn, H. T; Ellingham, J. Georgetti, and W. M'Lennan. With reference to Mr. N. D. Wilson's application for the right to cut timber, construct tramways, erect sawmills, and dam streams on Sections H, 15, and 29, Block 111, MakoHiku, for a term of ten years from October 1, 1911, postponed from Thursday's meeting, it was resolved that the question was not one for tho board to deal with. It will be left in the Commissioner's hands to look into, and finally deal with. With reference to tenders received from Messrs. Fear and Knight for the right to graze Section 97, Block VIII, Belmont, it was resolved to grant this right to Mr. W. H. Knight from month to month at a rental of 18s. per month/subject to determination at any timo and to the usual condition.

It was resolved to approve of the Union Steam Ship Company's permit to occupy lot 7 of Section 216, city of Wellington, beinjr extended for another period of three months from March 16 at the same rent as hitherto, .£322 Is. Bd. per annum. Mr. Dix waited on the board with reference to the transfer of Mr. ,T. .T. Wilkinson's share of Section 7, Block V, Monganui. to his brother. Mr. T. Wilkinson.— Left in tho hands of the Commissioner to deal with.
The report received from Messrs. H. Lundius and ,T. E. Smith. Crown Lands Hangers, on the proposed remission of rental on sections in the Kaitieko and Betnruke Blocks, in terms of Section 25 of the Public Reserves and Other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies' Empowering Act, 1911, postponed from last meeting, was further considered.—The board deliberated upon this. mat!er in committee during most of the day, and resolved to make representations to the Minister in accordance with tho Act.
