OFFICERS TRANSFERRED,

In consequence of Departmental rear* rangements and of a very largo proportion of tlio road votes being now entrusted to local authorities for expenditure, tho office of Inspecting Engineer of Roads has been abolished. Mr. A. B. Wright, who at present holds the position, is transferred to Blenheim, as Resident Engineer la charge of all public works, railways, roads, and buildings in the Marlborough, district. Mr. H. 11. Sharp*, now located at Blenheim, is transferred to Wcstport, Mr. John Wood, engineer at Westport, goes to Whangaroi as Resident Engineer.
