MESS TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. H. R. Salmon, late fourth engineer of the Maheno, has joined the Atua in a similar capacity. Captain 11. Morrisby, coramandcr of R.M.S. Maraina, has been granted holiday leave, and will spend nsveral weeks touring New Zealand. Captain Morrisby's successor has not yet been announced. Mr. A. Brent, assistant-purser of tho Moana, transfers to the Moeraki. Mr. Nelson, who was second engineer of tb? Moana, has been promoted to chief, vice Mr. Howarth, who has transferred-to the Marama as chicf engineer. All the other engineers have been promoted a step, and Mr. J. Cullen, late of the Paloona, is now fifth engineer of :hc Moana. Mr. F. J. Joumay, late second ofilcor of the Marama, joined the Moana as second officer at Sydney this trip, vico Mr. W. Paul. Mr. L. J. Evans is now assistant-purser of the Monowai. Mr. J. M'Lean has taken the place of Mr. H. Johnson as third engineer of tlie Patoma. . Mr. T. Gray, sccond engineer of the steamer John, left the vessel at Wellington ye-Lerday. Captain Collins, of the Moeraki, and Captain Rolls, of the Moana, exchange ships a: Wellington to-day. From Gisborne, for which port she leaves Wellington to-morrow, th 3 Tyser liner Indrapura proceeds to Napier. She is due hack at Wellington on Easter Saturday, and sails the following day for London. The Shaw-Savill aveamer Waimana is scheduled to leave Wellington for London a.t 6 a.m. to-morrow. To-day the steamer Ngatoro will be snp.iiied loading coal at Greymouth. She is due at Wellington on Saturday. When the Union Company's steamer Moeraki leaves Wellington for Sydney at 5 p.m. to-morrow, she will bo. a full ship as far o.s her passenger accommodation i? concerned. On her arrival from northern ports tomorrow, the Tarawera will wait at Wellington for the purpose of taking fruit transhipments ex the Hauroto. The Tarawera will leave here for Dunedin direct on Saturday evening. To-day the Union Company's steamer ' Taviuni i? to sail from Wellington for Lyttellon with 2COO sheep and 60 head of cattle aboard. From the southern port she proceeds to Waitongi, Chatham Islands and brings back a load of sheep to Lyttelton. It is estimated that there 0.E2 close on 15,000 sheep awaiting shipment at the Chatham s. Late to-night or early to-morrow morning ! the Island steamer Hauroto is due in port from Suva, via Auckland. On completion ! of discharge hero sho proceeds to Wsstport on Saturday.
