SEVENTY MINERS ENTOMBED.
» DISASTER IN VIRGINIA. By Telegraph—Prose Association—Copyright New York, March 26. An explosion occurred at tho mine of the Jed Coal and Coke Company, at Welch, West Virginia. Seventy minors are entombed. Ten were rescued alive and 0110 was got out dead. Strong hopes that the remaining men entombed will be rescued alive are entertained. DEATH ROLL EXCEEDS EIGHTY. (R«c. March 27, 11.25 p.m.) New York, March 27. Latest reports state that the West Virginian mine disaster death roll exceeds eighty. Ninety-three men were involved, but eleven reached the surface alive. Six bodies have been found. The indications lead to the abandonment of hope that the others may be saved.
