The battle between the Fedoral troops and the rebels, reported yesterday, took place at Jimenez, 175 miles south of Chihuahua, and not at Jaurez, as previously stated. It resulted in tho defeat of the rebels, with heavy losses on both sides. The Federal troops are now attacking a Btrongly-held rebels' position near the scone of a former battle. • It is reported that tho seaport of Mazatlan, on the Pacific Coast opposite the southern extremity of Lower California, has been bombarded by a rebol gunboat. The rebels are also attneking tho city from the landward side simultaneously. There has been considerable loss •of life. Tho Federals hold .tho city strongly.
