lIAEBOUR BOARD'S CONTRIBUTION. (By Tclccraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, March 27. At tho Harbour Board meeting:, tin Mayor's motion questioning tho legality of tho board's action in contributing iiltcen guineas a year to tho Employers' Association lapsed, wanting a seconder. A further motion questioning the legality of members of tile board being also members of tho Employers' Federation was seconded pro forma, and was lost, tho other members opposing it. Tho chairman (Mr. Entricin) slated that the auditor luul passed tho payments to tho Employers' Association, and tliero was absolutely no doubt of their legality. Tho board had never taken any part in the doings of the Employers' Association, and only joined because it was working under sev. eral awards, and when cited before tin Court it was convenient to hn,ve the asso' ciation's secretary appear for it.
