4 !By Telegraph-Special Correspondent.) Palmerston, March, 2G. The monthly meeting of the general committee of tho Manawntu A. and P. Association was held to-day, Mr. A. Conway, president, in tho chair. Correspondence was. read from Mr. James Stuckey, stating that a cup would be available for the 1012 show for tho best Hereford bull bred in New Zealand from parents whose ancestors were entered in tho English Hereford herd book: Tho .National Sheephreeders' Association wrote stuting that the thirteenth International Conference would bo held on July 1, and-, that the council wonid bo pleased to welcome any representatives from the Government or associations interested in sheep breeding. It was resolved to inform the New Zealand jlnm-nev-Marsh Breeders' Association, the Lincold Hheopbrecders' Association, and the New Zealand Slieepbreeders' 'Association that Messrs. Balsillie and Batchelw were going Home, and would bo willing to act as representatives. It was resolved that the secretary bo empowered to provide- such temporary assistance as would bo required prior to the Dairy Show. Nineteen new .members were elected. . Mr. 1). Pringle was elected to till a vacancy on the Finance Committee. It was resolved to support the North Otago A. mid P. Association in an endeavour to put a stop to the use of noilrillcs by boys, owinc to the damage done to farmers' stack by theso weapons. Mr. S. It. Lancaster reported on what had been done at the Cambridge Show in the matter of taking steps to provide trains for show stock between Palmerston nml Auckland. A number of \Vaikalo breeders had stated their intention to .-.end stock to MlO Palmerston Show if suitable train arrangements could bo made. It was decided to set up a eommitl.ee at the next meeting to go into the matter.

Some discussion took place in regard to a motion brought forward by Mr. Ualrymplo to tho effect that a sloping bank be placed outside the show ring, in order that oil tho people round the ring might bo enabled to seo, tho work not to exceed a cost of .£ls. Tho motion was negatived. Mr. J. jr. Johnston moved that the necessary stops bo taken to niter (lip. financial year to tho end of March 31 m each year. Ho stated that ibis would be much more convenient, and would save a great deal of bookkeeping Mr. Hodder seconded tho motion, which was carried.

Messrs. J. knight (Foilding) and TT. 11. Hunt (Rongotea) wore elected to fill tho vacancy on the committee caused In- tho resignation of Messrs. Standor. and foster Pratt.

It was resolved thai tho annual nicotine 1)0 held on Monday, July 15. Mr. J, M, Johnston gave notice of motion to the effect that in future the annual meetings be held during tho week of the Winter Show.

It was resolved on the motion of Mr J. Johnstone, seconded bv Mr. Lancaster, that the Spring Show bo held tho week prior to tho Christehnreh Show.
