CONDOMINIUM GOVERNMENT A FAILURE. (By Telegraph.-Press Association.) Auckland, March 28. ilecent visitors to the New Hebrides who arrived here by the Hauroto to-day flavo spoken of tho cabled information regarding the control of the group. They say, that, the Condominium Government naving proved such a complete failure, wio residents of the islands will welcome a change to a distinct and definite rule. Joint Government by Britain and Franco has resulted in a half and half -.feervnnce of the law, to the disadvantage of Uptons, who kept the letter of the law, whereas the French wore hopelessly deliant of it. A strong belief was prevalent in the New Hebrides that the group was >emg subjected to British control in return for some concession or other island ■merest to France. It was thought that irench residents, though in a majority, would not offer serious opposition to "a change of Government.
