A special meeting of tho directors o! the Young Men's Christian Association, was held Inst evening, to meet Mr. K. 11. Fenccck, cluiirmaii of Hie National Executive of tlie movement, and to discus matters of general interest. The president, Mr. H. W. Korsley, oocupied the chair, nnd cordially welcomed (ho visitor to tho city. Mr. Peacock briefly outlined the organisation of the National Committee, and emphasised the necessity for linking up the various associations for more united and successful effort in directing the development of the national character of our young men. The scheme of sectional committees for smaller territories, with nu efficient n.v ticnal secretary to supervise nnd stimulate the. individual associations, was working well in Australia, and he urged tho samo plan for New Zealand. The results so far had exceeded expectations, in two 4 important respects, unit dealing with Hie financial problem (which was ever prevent with associations), and in training of men for the positions of general secretary. An interesting discussion followed, having special reference lo the local position, which wiis regarded as of the most hop©> ful description. / A special meeting of business men will gather, by invitation of th? president', at the Burlington Cafe this afternoon, to meet Mr. Peacock, and lie will a\&> address a public mass meeting of young men in the Y.M.C.A.'s Assembly Hall this evening. Mr. Peacock is a forceful and inspiring speaker, and it is honed there will be a largo gathering of thdso interested, in the welfare of (he young men of tho community to lieav him.
