AFTERMATH OF THE STRIKE.
LABOURERS' UNION PROSECUTED. (By Telccraph.—l'rcts Association.) Auckland, March 25. Mr. Gohns, Inspector of Factories, lias commenced an action in the Magistrate's Court agiiinst Hie Builders' and Contractors' General Labourers' Union of Workers, claiming .£2OO penalty for a breach of award by instiffntiny, niding, or abetting an unlawful strike by members of the union, who, nt the time of the strike, wore doing work for the City Council, the alleged breach of award affecting drainage works in Auckland. It is alleged that members of the union employed by Mr. Moody, contractor, after working several days or hours, refused ta return to work unless the system of co. operative work, or sub-contracting, was discontinued on tho work being carried on by Moody and other employer*, such refusal beiiig duo to an asfrceinent botwwn tho workers and the union to compel the employers to n;;rco to the demands made.
