» Mr. S. Begs, formerly of Napier, a>ud how on the staff of tho ''Illustrated london News," has arrived in Now Zealand from India, whero he acted as special artist for his paper at the recent Durbay. Mr. JUcgg, who is accompanied by his wife awl daughter, is paying a flying visit only to New Zealand, and returns to England at an early dale. Mr. E. A. S. Killick, chief clerk of tho sub-Department of Hospitals, Charitable Aid, and Public Health, left on a trip to Australia by tho Warrimoo yesterday. Mr. C. ling;;?, of Mount Morgan, Queensland, who is a delcgnto to the Confe'renco of the Australasian Provincial Press Association, which has ju.st sat in Auckland, has received a cablo messago asking liirj tn stand as an Independent candidate for the Nermanby electorate, in the general elections which w.jll take place on April 27. Mr. W. G. Somerville, of Dunedin, a vice-president of the Australasian Provincial Press Association, who has distinguished himself by much excellent work on behalf of the association, and especially on this occasion by arranging an excellent itinerary for their travels in New Zealand, lias' been presented by tho delegates with a silver-mounted salad bowl. ill-.
