PROSECUTIONS IN CHBISTCHURCH. (By Teletrrat-n.-Prcss Association.! Christchurch, March 21. Two lads under imprisonment at Lyttelton Gaol for refusing to tnko the onth of allegiance were liberated this afternoon before the completion of their sentences. Two others, who had served their terms, were released at tho sanio time. A number of young men who, though they registered under the Defence Act, have as yet foiled to attend tho necessary number of parades, are to have their names handed to the police, for the purpose of instituting Court proceedings against them. If convicted they, are liable to a penalty up to 3th, and can be imprisoned in default of payment. This is the first time that any prosecutions, of this nature have been instituted in Christchurch. It has been decided that for tho future EO strangers will be allowed in King 33dsrard Barracks during parade hours.
