SUMMARY AND FORECAST,
Present indications aro for cloudy and unsettled weather generally, showery in many parts and especially tho East Coast of thij North Island, where rough seas are also to bo expected. Strong southeasterly winds are probable in the north, and easterly breezes backing to southerly elsewhere. Barometer unsteady, but probably rising again shortly. Tho winds have decreased in force in the north, though south-easterly gales are still reported at East Capo and Cape Egmont. Tho weather and seas have been very rough on the East Coast of the North Island, aud the wea.her very unsettled and showery in most parts of the North Island and cold and changeable in the south. Feilding, March 21— Overcast; a few showers fell during the day; cold night. Wanganui, March 21.—Cold eas'i wind, but fine overhead. Hastings, March 21—Dull, with rain threatening.
