9- . (By Telegraph.—Special Oorreeponilent.l Wanganui, March 21. The AVangaDui Beautifying Society's garden fete, postponed from last week, was hold to-day in fino weather, though a fresh easterly wind was blowing. The foto was a thorough success, there being ;> splendid "gnto," while tho numerous side, shows wore, liberally patronised, so that tho result should bo a substantial addition to tho socioty's funds.
