MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr. W. G. Kiddcll, S.M.) WAITRESS IN TROUBLE. TELEGRAM l-'RAUD. Mabel Dickensen, a young woman who was said la be a waitress, was charged with having, on March 111, fraudulently sejit a telegram lo Ada Dickson, Auckland, purporting that the telegram was sent on the authority of .Margaret Dicksou; and that, on March 34, she had forged the name of M. Dickson to a money-order telegram, intending that the message should be acted upon us genuine. Accused, who was represented by Mr. 11. I:'. O'.l.eary, pleaded guilty. Detective Cameron gave evidence that accused had confessed to him that shewas guilty of the charges. Kho slaved that sho had gone to the Wellington Post Ofiice in search of a letter she expected. By mistake she had been handed a letter addressed lo M. Dickson. She opened this letter, and found that it was from Ada Dickson, of Newton, Auckland, to "Mag." Dickson, her sister, in Wellington. The letter said that if M. Dickson needed money sho was < to write to Ada Dickson. The accused telegraphed (o Ada Dickson for money, and signed the telegram "Mag." In reply a money-order for £1 was forwarded, and this accused took delivery of.
Accused was committed lo the Supreme Court for sentence.
OTHER CASKS. Kathleen Stanley was sent to prison for one month for importuning people in Taranaki Street. Richard Dunn was fined .CI for insobrioty.
