WAVERLEY SHOW.
(By Tclecraph.—SDOcial CoiresDondent.l Wanganui, March li>. There was glorious weather for thb fourtli annual show of Ihu Waverley A. ami I'. Association, held to-day, anil a large attendance of tho public, including tho Minister for Agriculture (the llou. 'I'. Mackenzie). The competitors in the various classes were principally local, but interest was ncvcithele-.s J'airlv keen, entries showing an increase 011 last year and the quality good. . Mr. J. 1!. M'lJoiiald's Aotea, who has a long rccord of wins all over the North Island, added to his laurels by taking iirst honours in the twelve-stone hack class, and was certainly tho best horse in tho show. Tho dogs, though numerous, in but few instances showed signs of breeding. Miss Briggs's fox terrier Maha Heki was certainly tho best dog benched. The sheep were an excellent lot, and in show points would liavo held their own anywhero. Tho principal sheep winners wero Messrs. G. E. liillinghurst and 1). S. Taylor. The Motimahaki Stato Farm exhibited a splendid collection of root and forage crops and vegetables.
