SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Present indications are for etormy weather over the North Island and in Cool: Strait. High easterly and south-easterly winds prevailing northward of Farewell Spit and Kaihoura, and heavy rain is probable shortly < from a tropical disturbance, apparently advancing from the north. Cool aud changeable weather probable in the south, witli moderate to strong 'southerly winds and little movement of the barometer. In tho northern districts the barometer has fallen and tho skies are overcast wit.!; rain in parts, and strong easterly and south-easterly winds.
