..HOCKEY.

PROSPECTS'FOR THE SEASON". Mr. W, Organ, who has been chairman of the Wellington Hockey Association for several years, states that the prospects for the approaching hockey season are excellent, and that there is no doubt whatever that the pam« is growing rapidly and on thoright lines. In addition to all tho senior teams which participated in last year's top-grade matches, there will be another team 1 this year in the representatives of the Government Life Insurance Department. There is a healthy growth in the other grades, so'much so that there will be'h. slight difficulty in providing playing grounds for all who wish to take part inthe game this winter. They will still have the grounds at Day's Bay, Miramar, the Basin Keserve, and at Diippa Street, bnt these are not enough, and a movement is afoot to secure others not too remote from the city. "Hockey will go ahead-all right," said Mr, Organ, "if the game is kept quite free from any sort of professionalism. Those who want to travel should be prepared to pay their own 'exes.' If that is not done, well, it clears the way for other payments, and those I personally believe would be harmful to-hockey."
