A resolution demanding tho resignation of Mr. Joha Payno of his seat as member for Grey Lynn was carried by a very large majority at a meeting held hy him this tvening. "I am going to ignore all such resolutions," was Mr. Payne's ictort. "I defy you and jour resolutions. 7 am going to stay, in that. House just so lons as it enables mo to prove what I am." Fully 500 people were present, and the proceedings were even more stormily demonstrative than tho first meeting addressed by Mr. Payne. Tho chairman of his election committeo again presided, and there was much animosity displayed against tho lengthy statements which ho frequently made from the chair. An active part was taken by Mr, J. H. Bradney, Keforin member for Auckland West, nnd Mr. W< H. Murray, Mayor of Grey Lynn.
