9 A HINT TO OWNERS. Occasionally tho corporation officers bring beforo tho Magistrate's Court a long list of cases in which the owners of dogs are'charged with not having registered their canines. Generally, the City Solicitor asks leave to withdraw (ho majority of theso charges on the ground that tho defendants have registered their dogs sineo the receipt of the summons. Yesterday, about 30 of these cases were brought against citv residents, and in all but (wo instances leave to withdraw tho charges was aslceri for by Mr. 11. M. lloechcy, who appeared for tho corporaMr. Riddell, S.M., said that ho would havo to niako a rule in such cases to prevent so many withdrawals. The Court oHiccrs had to go to a good deal of tho trouble entailed in theso prosecutions, and no fees were attached. So far as the corporation was concerned they could, in future, mnlco arrangements with the defendants for tho payment of Court costs. It is understood that in future dog owners who do not pay their registration foes until aft«r they aro sued will have to pay tho Court costs as well as the fees.
