LAND SETTLEMENT FINANCE ACT. Up to March 31, 1911, eleven association 3 had been incorporated under tho provisions of the Land Settlement Financo Act. which enme into operation on April 1, 1910. Sinco March 31, 1911, thirteen additional associations have been formed, as under:— Auckland.—Five associations; membership, '11; area, GO7B acres; purchase money, m,ni. Canterbury.—Four associations; membership, 23; area, 4527 acres; purchase money, £io,C)ll. Southland.—Two associations; membership, 16; area, 4214 acres; purchase money, Totals.—Thirteen associations; membership, 83; area, 14,819 acres; purchase ■money, .£14.5,824. Negotiations for tho acquisition of five or six properties in tho Auckland district and one in the South Island are now proceeding.
