Tho new Adclphi Theatre in Willis Stroot is rapidly approaching completion. Tho workmen concerned are now engaged in building tho platforms which are to support the dress circle seats, whilst up above tho ceiline is being finished in moulded plaster from tho Carrara Ceiling Company's works. An inspection of tho building .discloses sovernl improvements hitherto not reckoned among tho appurtenances of a picture theatre. There is, for instance, an open air lounge and cloak rooms fur tho dress circle patrons, and instead of being built within the main body of the building, tho machine box is built on the outside of the rear wall, so that if bv anv menus a film were to catch firo the o'nlv admittance the flames would have would'be the aperture through which the picture is projected, and that will bo protected bv an iron slide which can be dropped in an emergency. Another excellent feature of tho Adclphi is that tho occupants of every seat will bo afforded a full view of tho screen, and that at such a distance which will afford no excuse for eye-strain. The new theatre is to he comfortably finished and neatly decorated. It will be ready for use some time next month. The St. John's Rugby Football Club will hold » praotics to-morrow at the 9019. pound* Rot K liinuQU. ,
