"Can you by any means stop these dreadful school hours?" wrote; an anxious parent to the headmaster of the school which'her your hopefuls attend, and the missive was sent on to the City Schools Committee for consideration last evening. Tho writer added that her children were not very well in health since they had to attend school not at B.M a.m., but a quarter of an hour earlier; and other letters wero received stating" thnt tho children had not timo for their breakfast—let' alono the running of messages that were absolutely necessary in the ease of large families. A number of letlers to much the same effect were read, and after a short discussion it was unanimously resolved that the school hours should be from 0 a.m. until 12 noon, and from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The secretary was instructed to convey to the headmasters of the various sohools in the district the term! of thi) resolution,,
