EXCITED BROKERS. Obo of tho most exciting periods which the Broad Street curb brokers liavo over experienced was witnessed by tlio noonhour crowd at lunch time 011 February 9. To hundreds of people who lined tlio sidewalks it appeared as though a panic had developed; brokers surged alx>ut, flinging arms into tlio nir and screaming incoherently their prices for different stocks. While tlio excitement was at its height one broker forced his way from tho middTo of tho crowd with two or tlirco young traders hanging on to his nrms. ITats wero knocked oft as other brokers crowded about, and a gcnornl melee appeared im.miiienl. As suddenly ns the ©xcitcment was begun it ended, however, when a dap)>er little man in the doorway of a restaurant, which overlooks the curb, came bustling into the street. "That's fine," he exclaimed. "Thanlc you all very much." Tho belligerents of a moment More picked ill) their hats, adjusted their overcoats, and resumed their normal affairs, while tho onlooker.'! trailed after the motion picture man as far as tho Wall Street subway entrance. Thus ended the manufacture' of one chapter of the "lii'oker's lievnnge," which will shortly bo produced throughout the rountrv.
