Waipoua, Masterlon, yesterday (telegraphs our special corespondent), when they offered a good yarding well above advertised numbers. There was a good clearance at rather better rates than the Inst fsw weeks. Good ewes and lambs were well competed for, of which, amongst other entries, they offered on account of Mr. Robert Douglas, of Te Wha.rau, a- good line of ewes, which fetched lls.; on account of Mr. lieptd. Fat cattls wore irregular of sale. Store sheep sold , at late rates. Fat limbs were firmer by about Is. per head. Fat sheep sold at ln,st week's rates, and pigs were unchanged in vahro. There was a wenker demand for store cattle, but dairy cowa sold well. Store sjieap were again offered in large numbers, the bulk of the offerings hsing ewes, and the balance being lambs, with a few pniia of wethers. The ewes wsrc of better average quality, though good two 1 tooths were in short supply. There was a good demand for all classes of ewes, <ind the rates were fully up to late rates. There, was no change in the demand or prices of wethers. Best forward rape lambs made 12s. to 13s. 7d.; good, 10s. 9d. to lls. 6d.; medium, 9s. to 10s. 3d.; inferior and small, ss. to 7s. 9d.; forward four and six-tooth wethers, 14s. 6d. to 14s. 9d.; twotooths, 12s. 6d. to 14s. 6d.; good two-tooth nwos, 15s. 6d. to 17s. 6d.; others, 13s. to 145.; sound-mouth ewes. 7s. to 14s. 3d.; four, six. and eight-tooth, 12s. to 16s. 3d.; aged and culls, 3s. 9d. to Vs. 6d. The yarding of fat lambs totalled 4072, and the falling off of 20C0 in the numbers offered, as compared with last week, caused keener compstition among the exporters, and prices firmed by about Is. per head. The quality of the laimbs was of good average, freezing Hues, eelllnt; at 12s. 6d. to 16s. 6d. for ordinary weights, and 16s. 9d. to 18s. for tegs, butchers' lots making 12s. 3d. to 17s. 4d. There were 3500 more taken for export. Thorp was a good yarding of fat sheep, including some prime Hues of wethers, for which there was a. good demand for export. Good owea eold at about the previous wsok's- prices, there being a number of lines purchased for freezing. Inferior and unfinished soyts were dull of Kile, and somewhat easier. The range of prices was:—Prime wethers. 17s. to 20s, 6d.; extra, to 215.; others, 14s. 9d. to 16s, 6d.; merino wethers, 13s. 3d.; prime ewes, 13s. to 17s. 3d.; extra, to 18s. 9d.; others, 9s. to 12s. 6d. There were 216 head of fat cattle penned, against 198 last week, and the quality was not so good, for while there were some prime steers there was a large proportion of cows of various grades. There was an irregular sale, but on the whole there was practically no change in prices, except in the case of coivc-, which were easier. Stsers made £7 10s. to £11 12s. 6d. extra, to £13 10s.; heifers, £4 17s. 6d. tc £10 155.; and cows. £5 7s. 6d. to £9 2s. 6d, (equal to 225. to 275. per ICOlb.). A small entry of veal calves sold undci good competition at 6s. to 50s. A medium entry of store cattle included some useful fifte.?n-month-old sorts and two-year-old heifers, but the demand was not so keen as of late.
