BAKERS' PICNIC.
The annual bakers' picnic was held at Maidstone Park, Upper Hutt, yesterday. Thero was a largo gathering of bakers and their families, who helped to make the day a thorough success. A tug-o'-wnr between the carters and bakc-ra resulted in a win for the former after three strenuous pulls. The following aro the results of tho various races:—Boys (under 15)—Manson, 1; Bioughton, 2. Master bakers—Tiodricko, I; Corseh, 2. Committeoinon—De Maimanche, 1; A. Collran, 2; B. Gabb. .1. Operative bakers' wives—Mrs. M'W hirter, I; Sirs. Pain, 2."
