LITTLE MONEY FOR MINERS,
THE NEW CONFERENCE. (Bee. March 12, 10.15 p.m.) London, March 12. The South Wales owners, while unabntiligf in their opposition to the minimum ■wage, have agreed to be represented at the conference, it is expected that the executive of the Miners' Federation will meet tile coal-owners to-day. The bankers are cautious in advancing money to the miners' unions even on approved securily with an ample margin. One institution refused to advance J2150, 000 against Exchequer bonds, but the money was obtained elsewhere. The Lancashire-Cheshire Miners' Federation paid .£30,000 out for the first' week's strike benefits. Many firms, particularly in the engineering trade, in Lancashire, are using municipal electricity in order to l;cep their machinery going.
