; c ■ SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for misty and cloudy weather, with rain and colder conditions generally, with strong westerly winds, changing to southerly, in all parts of the country. Th.2 barometer has a falling tendency still in the north, but a rise will probably take place everywhere shortly. A small area of low pressure passed southward of New Zealand during the night, and the glass has continued to fall in the north, with increasing cloudiness and rain in parts. Northerly and westerly winds have prevailed, but have changed to-southerly in the southernmost districts. D. 0. BATES. Meteorological Office, Wellington, March 12, 1912. , DISTRICT REPORTS. Otaki, March 12.-Showery. Greytown, March 12—Fine, but cloudy. Snow is showing clearly on Mount Hector. Featherston, March 12—Overcast, N.TV. wind. Mastorton, March 12—Heavy rain fell this afternoon. Tho very unseasonable weather which has marked tho present summer continues. Hastings, March 12—This morning was fine, but about three o'clock rain fell, and still continues.
