A vast crowd attended Uie Town Hall meeting to protest against tlic action of the Honnl of Cricket Control. It was decided, almost unanimously, that tlio ncliim of the bonrd was inimical to the best interests of Australian cricltet. I The appearance of .Mr. Noble, was tlio ! .signal for terrific applause, which did not eea»e until lie rose in acknowledgment. Mr. Tlolman, Hie State Attorney-Gen-eral, declared tlmt Hie board had violated tlio Constitution in ignoring ]{ule Nine. Although tho bonrd had refused to give tho players an answer to their question concerning appointment of tlio manager, it had asked for an unconditional acceptance of its invitation, lie considered that whut was snuco for the goose should bo sauce for tlie gander. Mr. Wade, Leader of the State Opposition, said their present interest was to' secure peace. Even at this late, hour something should be done to seo that Australia was represented by the best team. The team us at present constituted was not the best. There should be give and take on both sides. IHe sympathies were with tho six.
