The first performance, has been announced to''take place at Baltimore, ~from which city the play will* if successful, bo taken to New York in due course'.' /'Lydia Gilmore" is its title, and it relates to. the affairs of a. doctor and his wife in a small town in the Midlands." ;Tha dootor being arrested for murder,, his wife decides to prove an alibi f by swearing that which she knows to be false—that no was not absent from home on tho fatal night. The barrister for the Crown, as a friend of Mrs. Gilmore, takes part in this scheme by instructing her what to reply to tho questions ho will put in cross-examination. The big scene, therefore, is in the court-room, and should give a : great opportunity for tho display of Miss-AnglinV well-known emotional power.'. 'Included in the cast is Miss Winifred Arthur Jones, daughter of the author.
