FEATHERSTON ITEMS.
A cricket match was played in Martinborough on Thursday between elevens representing I'oatherston and Martiuborough, the latter winning by 48 runs. Scores were: Maryborough, six wickets for 104 runs; and I'eathorston 01 (all out). W. G. Miller 24, and H. \V. Browne 18 wero the highest scorers for tho latter. Dr. and Mrs. Palmer who are leaving shortly for a visit to Great Britain are to be entertained by residents on Tuesday evening., . ' Mr. -and Mrs. Bungay, former residents of Featherston, are returning to New Zealand from England by tho Turakina this week. The Fcitherston Golf Club will open its season shortly, the annual meeting being nppuinted for next week. It is intended to reduce the annual subscription for firstyear players to 155., and for youths under 17 to 10s. .
