CRICKET CRISIS.
HOBABT MEETING OP PROTEST. By Teloeraph—Press Association—Copyriehl Hobart, March G. The Mayor presided over a crowded meeting held in the Town Hall to discuss the cricket crisis. • Mr; "Joe Darling, an ox-Australian captain, attacked the Board of' Control. He declared that while the hoard was constituted as it is at present the trouble would never be amicably settled. Mr. M'Elhone had been a stumbling block all through. . The Victorian and New South Wales members of the board had bought over the Queensland representatives. They had met in caucus before the meetings and decided what would be done. It was not true that players had, been working secretly with tho Melbourne club. The following resolution was carried:— "That Mr. M'Elhone be asked to resign the chairmanship of the Board of Control, as he has not the confidence of the cricketsupporting public or tlie players, and his presence is a hindrance to an amicable settlement of the dispute." Other motions similar to those passed by the Melbourne meeting were* carried.
