INCREASES AND REDUCTIONS. A notice in this week's "Gazette" intimates that on and after March 11 suburban fares will bo charged between Napier and Hastings and intermediate stations. While the foregoing means a reduction, another notification immediately below in the same "Gazette" notifies a rise in the through fares (steamer and Tail) between Wellington and Blenheim, consequent presumably on tho recent all-round increase made in steamer fares by the Union S.S.'Company. The single first-class faro has been raised from Ms. Dd. to IBs.; second-class, from lis. Cd. to 12s. Gd.; and tho return fares, first-class, from 20s. to 215., and return, second-class, from 15s. to IBs. There is also an all-round increasein freight charges between Wellington, Blenheim, and vice versa, amounting generally to Is. 6d. per ton.
