Sir,—With your usual promptness, you have hastened to inform your many readers 'of the fact that the authorities have not- taken auv action against about hair a dozen youths in Christchnrcb who have not paid'the lines for non-compliance wuli the Defence Act; TheS3 lnlf dozen youths have done no injury to anyone, not even to themselves. They simply disobeyed the law and the Press Association must circulate the press or other places of tho law's great,.neglect!i Now, sir, will vou kindly-'inform your many readers that another correspondent has told vou that the Government has not prosecuted absut. three hundred law-break-ing Tramwav Union men, who not only broke the law, but inconvenienced some thousands of others, ..and that in some cases very considerably? And then.say on what grounds of justice and equity can the Government persecute half a dozen youths, and at the same time let hundreds off who are undoubtedly more deserving of punishment.
