FOOTBALL. ANNUAL REPORTS OF CLUBS. MELROSE CIO. The twenty-fifth annual report of the Melrosc dull has been prepared for presentation to the annual general meeting of the club oil Monday next. Following is the text of (he report, slightly abridged: "As members are awore, several old members of the club fame to the last annual meeting mid helped to put the club on a sound financial basis. Sullivan represented the cluli in representative matches-, and [r. Han Sullivan was also a member of the North Island team. The finances of the club are in a very satisfactory position, showing a balance to credit in club funds of £8 Os. ii., am] in gymnasium fund of .£lB 7s. 7d., a total of J'24 7s. lid. Tho report concludes with the usual thanks to officers, special mention being made of the club patron (llr. Fullford) and of the president (Mr. Hums). SOUTHERN CTXirS MEETING. The annual meeting of the Southern Club was held in Uodher's rooms, Cuba Street, last night. The president of the club (Mr. E. J. Fitzgibbon) was in the chair, and there were some seventy members pri'.sant. The chairman, moving the adoption oi the report and balance-sheet, remarked upon the large attendance at the meeting. It had been the object of the club last year, and the same policy would be foliowed this year, to encourage the younger members rather than seek adventitious ai( from outside. Houlihan, G. Bradley, and L. Campbell. It was decided to reduce the annual subscriptions to the following scale:Senior, 12s. Cd.; junior, 10s.; third-class, 7s. Gd.; fourth-class, 55.; fifth-class, 2s. Cd. ; sixth-class, free. It was arranged that the season should be opened on Saturday week. The following motion was carried: "That this nieothiK of the Oriental Foot- , ball Club enters its most emphatic protest against what it believes to be. a most discreditable and contemptible action of a member or the Wellington R.U. in respect to ii member of this club, in that by innuendo he discredited the member's ability as a footballer, and reflected on his personal character, and that the delcafes of this club bring the matter before the meeting of delegates of the W.R.U." It was moved by Mr. Alexander and seconded by Mr. Liisk, that the delegates bo instructed to move in the. direction of having the fixtures as drawn, adhered to. Dr. Newman announced that he would give four medals, and Mr. W. JI. Robinson would give two medals in connection with the junior competition.
