MASTERTON NOTES.
(By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Masterton, March C. The Masterton Horticultural Autumn Show wns held in the Town Hall this afternoon. There were record entries, nnd Ihe displnv was I lie finest exhibition yet given by the society. A feature of ihe show was , tin; collection of astors ami dahli««. l'ot pliinls were also excellent, bill Uh' display of sweet peas not so good as in I'oniH'r years, this being owing to ii'ceii! bod ivcallicr. The excellent arrangement of the plants. Mowers, I'U-., was commented on by the judge. In the fruit classes M. Cnsellmrg won the chief prizes. Champion ro-e, Mrs. M. Suninieri'll: champion aster. 11. 11. Hygum; elminpiun dahlia, Mrs. 11. T. Wood. The school exhibition was exceptionally good, the Laiisdownc School securing the mo.-t points. The vegetable display was Iho best vet seen in Masterlon, and the show as a whole is considered by the visiting judges to be equal to.anything of its kind scon in Die Dominion.
