At e. meeting of the Women's Social and Political Leaguo last evening, the following resolution was adopted:—That the members of tho Women's Social and Political League desire to heartily congratulate the Right Honourable Sir Joseph Ward on so successfully leading the Liberal and Labour party to victory during tho session just closed. We desire further to assure Sir Joseph Ward of our loyalty and dovotion, and although he has expressed a determination to retire from the leadership of the party, wo trust that such retirement will be temporary, and that at no distant date we will have the pleasure of again welcoming him back «3 tho head of our party. We are confident, in view of the large majority of votes which were cast at the recent election in favour of the Liberal and Labour party over those given to the Conservatives, that should another election be necessary the party will, under Sir Joseph Ward's able leadership, be returned materially strengthened. We trust that Sir Joseph Ward, La,dy Ward, and their family will long be spared to enjoy tho best of health, and tho esteen of our fellow-citizens throughout the Dominion. A resolution was also passed protesting against alleged "unwarranted aspersions" cast upon the Liberal party by the president of the Women's Reform party in Wellington.
